Ideas matter. Approaches matter. Methods matter. Because flawed ideas, approaches, and methods yield bad answers, or "solutions" that don't work, or they waste valuable time and energy in fruitless exercises with no lasting impact.

Chris Argyris

Chris Argyris is a director of Monitor and Professor Emeritus at Harvard Business School. He is known for his seminal work in the area of Organizational Learning and is the author of numerous books and articles on the subject. Bruce Chew

Bruce Chew is a partner at Monitor and an authority on technology and operations management. A former Harvard Business School professor, he joined Monitor in 1993. He focuses on enhancing the performance of firms' production and logistics, managing complexity and effective product development. Joe Fuller

Joseph Fuller is a co-founder of Monitor and works with clients in a variety of industries, particularly those with a heavy reliance on technology. He has deep experience in two of the world's most dynamic sectors, life sciences and telecommunications, and has advised leading companies and regulatory bodies in both industries. An extensive contributor to Monitor's intellectual property, his interest in research began during his collaboration with Professor Michael Porter of Harvard Business School on the development of the concepts presented in Porter's book, Competitive Advantage. In recent years, he has worked closely with Professor Michael Jensen on the interaction of the capital markets and companies' decision-making processes with a particular focus on corporate governance. Widely published, his work has appeared in The Wall Street Journal, the Financial Times, The Washington Post, and Harvard Business Review.

Mark Fuller

Mark Fuller is a co-founder of Monitor and its former chairman and CEO. He focuses on developing critical elements of Monitor's next generation of intellectual property. Formerly, Fuller served as an assistant professor of business administration at the Harvard Business School. He is the author of Japan's Business Renaissance.

Katherine Fulton

Katherine Fulton is a partner at Monitor and president of the Monitor Institute, the vehicle through which Monitor applies its knowledge, expertise, skill and capital to solving complex social problems. She is the co-author of Looking Out for the Future: An Orientation for Twenty-First Century Philanthropists. Her efforts have won her both a Nieman Fellowship at Harvard University and a Lyndhurst Foundation prize for community service, and her innovative course design at Duke University was featured in Time magazine.

Bernie Jaworski

Bernie Jaworski is a former senior partner at Monitor, and was a co-founder and co-leader of Monitor’s e-commerce practice as well as its executive education unit. Bernie currently serves as the Peter F. Drucker Chair in Management and the Liberal Arts at Claremont Graduate University (CGU), a post awarded to “an internationally recognized scholar who carries on the Drucker legacy of tempering sound business practices with a commitment to social responsibility,” according to CGU. His former positions have included executive vice president for North America at the Switzerland-based international business school IMD, as well as teaching posts at the University of Southern California, the University of Arizona, and Harvard Business School. He is the co-author of four textbooks on e-commerce, as well as the co-author of Best Face Forward: Why Companies Must Improve Their Service Interfaces With Customers.

Michael Jensen is a Senior Advisor at Monitor. He is Jesse Isidor Professor of Business Administration Emeritus, Harvard Business School. In 1990, he was named "Scholar of the Year" by the Eastern Finance Association and one of the "Year's 25 Most Fascinating Business People" by Fortune magazine. Larry Keeley

Larry Keeley is a partner at Monitor, and the president and co-founder of Doblin Inc. He is an acclaimed author, speaker, and teacher on the role of innovation and business. Over the last 25 years, Larry has advised hundreds of clients on how to use rational, repeatable methods to achieve innovation effectiveness. Larry was named by Business Week as one of the "Seven Gurus of Innovation." He is also on the faculty and Board of the IIT Institute of Design in Chicago and is a highly rated teacher at the Kellogg Graduate School of Business.

Diana McLain Smith

Diana McLain Smith, a partner at Monitor for ten years, joined New Profit, Monitor's strategic partner, as Chief Executive Partner in 2010. For 30 years, Diana has advised leaders and studied firms that are changing the way people work, think, and live. In her research, Diana observes leaders and organizations over a period of years and studies her own efforts to transform their leadership and their firms. By reflecting on both her successes and failures, she has come to understand what it takes for leaders to build in themselves and embed in their organizations the ability to innovate, learn, and grow. Michael Porter

Michael Porter is a co-founder of Monitor and the Bishop William Lawrence University Professor at Harvard Business School. Named one of the top 50 business intellectuals of our time, Mike Porter is the author of 16 books and over 80 articles. Doug Randall

Doug Randall is Managing Partner of Monitor 360 and a partner at Monitor with nearly 20 years of professional experience serving governments and private sector organizations in strategic planning, scenario thinking, networking, and complexity management. Doug is a recognized thought leader on managing uncertainty, designing effective institutionalization programs, and a select set of geopolitical issues.
