Ambar Chowdhury serves as the Managing Partner of Monitor India. Since joining the firm in 1998, Ambar has worked with a number of Monitor’s largest global clients, helping them develop and implement Corporate and Business Unit strategies to fundamentally improve their competitive position and shareholder returns. He has worked across a wide range of sectors including consumer products, industrials and transportation, and at various times has held leadership positions in Monitor’s Operations, Organization and Strategy practices. Before moving to India in 2012, Ambar served as a member of the North American management team and head of the firm’s headquarters office in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Prior to Monitor, Ambar was an assistant professor of mathematics at the University of Connecticut, where he conducted research supported by a National Science Foundation research grant. Nitin Chaturvedi is a Senior Partner at Monitor. Since joining Monitor in 1998, his work has spanned the telecommunications, retail, banking, mining and life sciences sectors. His focus for clients includes developing integrated launch strategies and large transformation programs targeted at revenue growth acceleration and margin improvement. Nitin holds degrees in engineering and management, including a Bachelor’s degree from Indian institute of Technology, New Delhi and a Master’s degree from the Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commerciales, Paris. Parijat has over 10 years of consulting experience across India, Europe and the Middle East. He has consulted across different issues including corporate and business unit strategy, market entry strategy, sales and marketing, investment assessment, supply chain and distribution, organization structure, and performance improvement for clients in industries including healthcare and pharmaceuticals, automotive and industrial equipment, financial services, professional services, tourism, and transportation and logistics. Parijat has a bachelors of technology degree, with honors, in manufacturing science and engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, and a MBA from Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. Since joining the firm in 2000, Gopi has worked with a number of Monitor’s largest private and public sector global clients on strategy, scenario planning, competitiveness, and organization transformation. He has worked across a wide range of sectors including consumer products, auto, healthcare, energy, and government. Before moving to India in 2012, Gopi was based in Monitor’s London office where he served as the head of its EMEA scenario planning practice and as the chair of its MENA management team. Prior to Monitor, Gopi worked with Procter & Gamble. Gopi has an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad and an engineering degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. Rishi Agarwal joined the Mumbai office of Monitor Group in October 2006. Rishi has significant experience in the areas of business strategy, performance management, supply chain, and corporate finance. He has worked mostly in business-to-consumer interfaces across the Retail, Consumer Packaged Goods, Telecom, and Tourism sectors. Prior to Monitor, Rishi worked for over 5 years with Unilever in various roles. He also had a brief stint with Fujitsu Plc advising them on their Telecom vertical strategy for Europe. Rishi received his MBA, with distinction, from the University of Oxford in 2006. He also holds a diploma from Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode, and a BS from the University of Delhi.
