Monitor’s Johannesburg office was established in 1993 and is presently situated in Houghton, a well established suburb convenient to most parts of the city. Over the last 15 years, the office has grown steadily, developing an enviable reputation for contributions to Monitor in terms of growth, talent and the development of intellectual property. We are also proud of our history of supporting not-for-profit organizations and for our record of pro bono work for social causes.
Typically the office has between 20 to 40 consultants working in it, a number of whom are often drawn from various other offices within Monitor. In combination with the demographic diversity of our Johannesburg-based staff, this serves to create an interesting, stimulating and ever-changing mix of nationalities, cultures and backgrounds. Our work and clients are similarly diverse. Although many of our clients are based in Johannesburg, we support clients in other parts of the country and are frequently engaged in many other parts of Africa.
Johannesburg is the largest and most populous city in South Africa and one of the 40 largest metropolitan areas in the world. Johannesburg is the source of a large-scale gold and diamond trade, due to its location on the mineral-rich Witwatersrand range of hills.
